So a few days ago a leaked image of RE6 hit the net, complete with a release date set for 11.20.2012. A lot of people were excited and soon afterwards Capcom released the first trailer and there is one thing people were wishing for……….

Zombies. That’s right RE6 will go back to having zombies, since RE4 and 5 we have not fought any zombie. The game will have Leon S. Kennedy and his scenario takes place in Tall Oaks, where the newest virus has infected 90% of the population, and it’s up to Leon and his new partner, Helena Harper to fight their way through the infected areas to their destination.

Chris Redfield will be making a return and his new team have been dispatched to China to investigate the outbreak over there. It is also apparent he is very angry about a certain ‘bitch’ who he claims was responsible for wiping out his entire team, with one of his men telling him his personal vendetta isn’t going to help. We all know how much cares for his partners from RE5 and interestingly he is addressed as Captain, I’ll talk about that in a bit.

Another new character will also be playable who fans say is Alex Wesker, he is not like Albert as he doesn’t really care about saturating the whole world globally, rather he is willing to sell his blood but only if the price is right. Capcom have stated he will have gameplay elements similar to Devil May Cry plus he will use firearms.

With Alex is a new blonde female, some have argued that this woman is Ashley Graham from RE4 while others claim it is Sherry Birkin, the voiceover in the trailer when she and Alex and jumping sounds like Carolyn Lawrence who voiced Ashley in RE4.

Plot

“It has been ten years since the incident at Raccoon City and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place. Raccoon City survivor and personal friend of the President, Leon S. Kennedy, arrives to find the President transformed beyond recognition by a bioterrorist attack. Leon is forced to make the hardest decision he has ever made.

At the same, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance Member, Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack.”

It is stated to take place 10 years after the Raccoon City incident and the President is going to spill the beans about the entire fiasco, 10 years after doesn’t necessarily mean exactly 10 years later because if you watch the trailer, the President said that in a flashback and when that flashback takes place we don’t know. It could be 2008, early 2009 (RE5 takes place March 5). Either way I really hope this is not a prequel as Capcom have made straight forward numeric sequels, Resident Evil 0 was named 0 presumably to keep the series consistent.

As with RE6 there are many reasons why I believe it is set after RE5:

1. Chris has only spoke to Leon before the events of CV, Leon told Chris the whereabouts of his sister Claire. In this game I’m guessing they will actually meet in person.

2. In the trailer, the President turns into a zombie with Leon or Helena shooting him. You’d think that RE5 would mention this, plus the global outbreak.

3. As I mentioned earlier with Chris and team. They address him as Captain, after what he and Sheva went through during the course of RE5 and the death of Wesker, it would make sense for the BSAA to make him a Captain of his own team. Afterall, he saved the world and prevented Uroboros from spreading. I’d say that is worth rewarding him for.

Either way, we’ll see what happens on the 20th of November later on this year. 2012 is a great year for Resident Evil, with RE: Revelations, RE: Operation Raccoon City etc.

Sony have learned from their mistakes with the PSP and are hoping their new handheld will do well in sales and fare better against the likes of Nintendo’s 3DS and the iPhone. Apple are currently part of the portable gaming market with their app store where many people can develop for the iPhone. The PS Vita is currently out in Japan and was released on the 12/17/2011, the system will hit western shores on the 22nd of February for the US and Europe, I have a PS Vita which I imported and when I first turned it on it was very different from the PSP. The PSV has no XMB like it’s predesssor and instead takes advantage of the touch screen also it is import friendly. When you power on the system for the first time, you have the option of changing the system language. You can even have English (US) or English (UK) for example plus the interesting thing about this is the system voice also changes its language I have a British accent with mine. If I chose US English I would of had an American accent.

The new handheld now has 2 analog sticks, plus the traditional PS buttons you would expect. There is a touch pad on the back of the system along with 2 others, my guess is that if Sony decided to put out PS2 classics (A guy can dream can’t he?) then the PS2 ports would utilize these. It is confirmed PSOne games will work but you’ll download them again.

While on the subject of downloading games, it has been confirmed that there will be no UMD support, want to play FFVII: Crisis Core on Vita? Then you’re going to have to redownload it. So what I recommend is to keep hold of your old PSP as I guarantee that not ALL PSP titles will be available for download on the PSN in your region.

Battery Issues

Being the most advanced and powerful handheld system out there with games such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, there system doesn’t come without its problems. Many users who have imported have experienced things like the PSV not being able to turn on, trouble charding etc. As I live in the UK, I have had trouble charging the system via USB on this PC, added to this is the fact that:

1. It’s imported from Japan.

2. Japan have 2 pin outlets, here in the UK we use 3 pin.

I used the USB for a while but here’s the thing, the power it has is 100v-240v 0.2a 50/60hz. Now not being very knowledgable with these things what I did is look inside my Sony Cybershot box, luckily the battery pack and AC charger have the exact same voltage as the adaptor the system came with. Take the 3 Pin plug for the Cybershot camera (Or any other Sony product) and insert the end to the AC adaptor that came with the Vita. It will work as mine is charging right now.

Games and Memory Cards

The game lineup for the PS Vita are surprising, first you have games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss which looks amazing and various third party titles such as:

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Blazblue: Continuum Shift II Extend

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational

Asphalt: Injection

Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen

These are not all the launch titles, but you can see there’s something for everyone whether you’re a fighting game fan or if you’re after something else. On a side note I do definately think Sucker Punch should develop an InFamous game for this as it is as powerful as the PS3 system.

The PSV has its own memory cards which means you will not be able to use the Memory Sticks the PSP used. According to Sony this decision was made to combat piracy and being fair to consumers so that everyone will have the same thing. Unfortunately there’s no way of avoiding piracy at all, it does not matter what measures a company will take to ensure piracy is avoided there will always be people who are one step ahead of you.

I personally think the PSV has a lot going for it in future even though its had mixed sales in Japan. A lot of third party titles will make their way to the handheld sometime this year and many more to follow.

Anyway this post is about Misfits which is a comedy-drama on E4 aired in the UK. Season 3 had just ended last year and if you’re a fan like myself then you must have been shocked at the end of it.

That’s what this post is about, the time traveling storyline/apsect and we know Simon and Alisha become a couple during the course of the show, The thing I was thinking about was where exactly did it all start from?

You have to understand the mysterious black hooded figure had to start somewhere, he couldn’t have just been there at the beginning also added to this are the multiple timelines. OK we know Simon realised he had to travel back to save Alisha in S3  so I think there’s more than 1 timeline.

Timeline 1: This would be what we have been watching (Series 1 to 3).

Timeline 2: Season 3 end, Simon goes back to timeline 1 default.

Timeline 1 cont: With Alisha dead, and Simon gone it is now Curtis, Kelly, Rudy and Seth.

As you can see, Simon is going to keep going back and repeating things over and over as Rudy stated at the end of S3 which to be honest is probably the smartest thing he ever said throughout the latest series.

In my opinion what started everything was a ‘timeline 0′ where there wasn’t future Simon helping them. In this timeline I think the course of the series would still happen but end in different ways, the tattooist Vince for example we know from the default timeline that he doesn’t like dry roasted peanuts which future Simon gave the misfits and present Simon threw a peanut in his mouth.

In timeline 0 they could’ve defeated him without future Simon giving them peanuts. Remember he engraved a tattoo on Nathan with a heart and Simon’s name on it which in turn Nathan was attracted to Simon. Note he did this to Kelly making her attracted to him and during this Vince could’ve told her about his allergy to nuts and Kelly somehow passed the information to the others. With this, they could’ve defeated him in the same way.

See what I’m trying to say? The whole time travel fiasco was triggered off with one ‘original’ timeline. We can only guess what happens/happened to the ‘original’ misfits as your guess is as good as mine. For all we know something really bad could’ve happened and I mean really bad, or the misfits are older and have parted ways, they could’ve been actual superheroes or maybe Nathan returned. Anything could happen and hell for all I know they could be using their powers for evil, maybe there are other characters the meet along the line.

Very interesting programme. I feel gutted Simon and Alisha’s story arc has ended as I feel the writers have used their creativity a bit too soon. Alisha could’ve been killed off in S4.

It’s not like today where you can go out for a drink at night, or have a meal. Remember there were no lights back then and your only source of light was were lamps plus you need to consider the lamp’s remaining oil. It was useless going out at night and you wouldn’t get very far.

The food and provisions they had were often vegetables and there were fines for hunting animals for their meat. Spices from the market were expensive and they were imported, so not many people could afford to buy them, only people with high status could really get their hands on them.

When I think about life back then, it was like living like wild animals. Just imagine how harsh winter must’ve been back then……..

I also wonder how someone from the 21st Century would interact with someone from that time period? Often people I ask say they wouldn’t, if it were me well I don’t know what I can say to them. You obviously wouldn’t be able to maintain a decent conversation about games, music, film and the usual stuff or even politics. Well maybe a little, but that’s how far you could go.

If I was to bring back a medieval teen to this year, I’d have my work cut out for me trying to explain everything little thing in great detail. Heck, he/she may not want to ever go back. I wouldn’t either. Lol it seems everytime I talk about something like the past/medieval period I always talk about sci-fi and time travel. But that should be understanable seeing as I played and clocked Castlevania LOS (the epilogue was amazing).

Anyway throughout the game’s development, Capcom USA’s Alex Jones and Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antionades have stated that this will be a ‘retelling of Dante’s origins.’ Which tells me that this is a reboot, but then they keep saying it’s now a prequel? Then let me ask you Capcom, what the hell do you want it to be?

When a developer is talking about a game, they usually let people know about the game’s place in canon. Like for Mercury Steams Castlevania LOS, when it was announced they confirmed it was a reboot and stuck with it. I must say DmC is the weirdest game I’m following right now and I’m as confused as the next person and if it’s a prequel, why is he not using Rebellion? I wonder if someone was looking after it for him or if it was stolen or something else. Unless the sword shown in trailers IS in fact Rebellion just with more forms (whip etc).

Also, notice the UK’s Union Jack in his sleeve, it seems to me it’s set in the UK (Not surprising seeing as NT are based in the UK) but if you remember DMC1′s manual it states in Dante’s profile that he is a mercenary living in modern day America, so if it is set before DMC3 it’ll cause confusion.

Now if I’m really being honest, I prefer to think of this as a reboot. I’ve got some reasons why I would like if if Capcom and NT stuck with this idea.

1. It’s a reboot. Meaning they can do what they want and start fresh and the original timeline is a bloody mess enough as it is. Guess what the timeline for the old series is. DMC3 manga>DMC3>DMC1>DMC Anime>DMC4 and finally DMC2.
2. No contradictions. Afterall it’s an alternative universe independant of all previous games.
3. It’s just a game, who gives a shit? Hehehehe AVGN reference. XD

I’ve read on different forums that there’s an interview where Alex Jones states it’s a rebirth and i haven’t come across it yet.

In other DMC news, I’m sorry to say that the rumoured DMC HD collection has been denied by Capcom

You know what’s funny? That would outsell the actual DmC game lol.

Anyhoo, E3 is over now and I’ve been following the games I’m looking forward to. You’ve got Uncharted 3, Playstation Vita, Tekken Blood Vengeance, Wii U etc. Damn O_O I was more interested in the Capcom games coming soon. You’ve got Street Fighter X Tekken updates, trailers, new characters plus Cole McGrath from the Sony franchise InFamous is going to be in the PS3 and Vita versions as an exclusive character. This just blew my mind! I mean, doesn’t he just seem……..out of place? I downloaded InFamous 1 from the PSN (£0.00 due to the PSN hack and they were giving out free games) and a few days ago I was playing and I thought to myself “This guy will be going up against the likes of Ryu, Ken, Kazuya, Chun-Li, Guile etc.”

In other Capcom franchises they are bringing out Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Online Edition for PS3 and 360. Get hype!

In other Capcom news, a new DmC trailer from E3 was released.

My honest thoughts was that it was nothing special as I was expecting more. Here are things I would’ve liked to see:

• New Characters. A new female lead perhaps? Maybe a small hint at Vergil’s return?
• Cutscenes. When there’s a new game coming out, the first initial trailer usually shows a part of the beginning cutscene in with a few lines that will be in the game. Whether it’s a new game or sequel, people expect the next trailer to show us more. Let’s take Resident Evil 5 for example, the first trailer showed us where the game will be set, showed us Chris Redfield will be returning, next trailer we were shown more. Here all NT had was a gameplay trailer, no taste of cutscenes, or new characters. But I think they’ll show more at this year’s TGS.

I’m following DmC carefully and will reserve judgment when a demo comes out to decide whether to buy the game or pass it up. It does have potential, and could turn out good if they do it right. I also find it sad that his new ‘Devil Trigger’ is just his hair turning white + a temporary power up, what is he a Super Saiyan now?

Personally, there was no damn point to set this before DMC3. Us fans want to know more about Nero and it’s Capcom just forgot about him. What do we need to explore in a prequel? We all know how Dante became who he is and how his DMC office came to be etc.

Well, that’s all I wanna talk about today. I may post some other things tomorrow.

I have been doing various other things too, I’m yellow belt for my Wado Ryu Karate, but just generally taking things easy.

This article in the link describes a mother’s ordeal about the secret usage of her son’s XBL account. He somehow used his mum’s card details to buy DLC for various games. Let me just make a few things clear here:

1. He’s a child. Children his age don’t understand the value of money. Hell I was a child once and did silly things in my time and so did you. Which brings me to the comments on the posts.

2. WTF is wrong with these people commenting? They are 98% pricks suckered in by micro$oft thinking “360 is better than PS3!!!!” yeah, here in the UK we unfortunately have those typical COD fanboys who play it on 360.

3. This isn’t the 90′s anymore where we only had SNES and Sega Mega Drive in which the only thing parents needed to do was a) hide game cartridges or b) hide controllers. Because children are getting smarter and have internet access easier, they learn about these things. We are in the digital age where most things can be done online.

This is one of those times where the PS3 is better, yes PS3>>>>>360.

To all parents read this carefully: PS3 has free online features (I.E. online is free no subscriptions!). To buy games or DLC addons for your existing disc games you ONLY need to buy a pre-paid £20 PSN card from GAME, Gamestation, HMV wherever.

I was excited when it was downloading as it was really unexpected for them to release a DMC game for Apple’s popular phone. But for what its worth, the game is surprisingly really good for a downgraded port for a platform you wouldn’t normally expect this to be on. Most people’s portable choice would obviously be the PSP for these type of games so when it was announced this would be for iPhone people were confused.

Story

The story is unchanged from the console version of DMC4 so if you liked the plot DMC4 originally you should be fine with it. Note there are no voice overs whatsoever and the cutscenes are all text while still retaining the lines from the console version.

Gameplay

To cater to the iPhone/iPod Touch DMC4 refrain has on screen controls and you have the regular on-screen joystick, sword/gun button, Devil Bringer, and the jump. One thing you should know is that the Red Queen and Blue Rose are the same button meaning when in close range with the enemy Nero will use his sword and finish with a High Roller however when you’re away from an enemy Nero will use the Blue Rose gun. The game is like Easy Automatic which if you played DMC1 you’ll know all about it. Also you may find Nero runs a bit slow, but luckily like in the PS3/360/PC versions you can buy skills to use which mnay include the running skill. (I haven’t got far yet)

When you die, if you choose continue you’ll be resurrected there and then.

Graphics

If you were expecting amazing graphics you’ll be a bit dissapointed as this is a port of a next gen console game on a phone. Graphics are downgraded and even though the games storyline is unchanged, it can be tricky to navigate seeing as they obviously couldn’t fit Fortuna Castle in and other areas. But the game gives you an on screen map to follow I guess because they had to change things. Looking at the graphics it kinda looks like it was made for GBA/DS.

Music

The music is retained from the console version so no changes here. Sounds are ok too Nero’s voice is downsampled I think. He will still say “Catch This!”, “Go down!” etc

Is the game worth it?

For £1.19 it’s actually not bad as you may think, the controls are responsive, graphics are ok not the best but you can live with it, combat is the same as the console port and changed to work on the iPhone/iPod so you can get at least a “Brutal” stylish level. If you do get this app, just know that Capcom are planning to make Dante playable very soon I am not sure if that includes his DT. We will see soon enough.

Pretty stupid to vote for last damn year’s programmes I think. They’re all shit anyway with the exeption of maybe Doctor Who, Shameless and the usual soaps. Of course the wank factor and that talentless bullshit will obviously win something but let’s hope it’s not going to be the 1st price/honour whatever.

Why do people watch shit programmes anyway? Most of them are worthless and uninteresting and they say ‘Well don’t watch it then!’ but I can sympathize with them because no matter what they do they will get tired of hearing about it. Yes someone doesn’t like your show lol.

I hate talent shows anyway, because the stupid public vote for contestants who don’t give 2 fucks about them unless it’s to do with their votes. But they’ll never listen to me anyway, the public don’t like themselves so they’ll vote for some potential future famous man with more talent then they have.
